Did God Take A Sabbatical To Clean His Gun?

I can barely read anything on my FB feed without becoming upset. The shooting in CT is a horrific and grotesque event that I cannot comprehend. The majority of things I see people posting are about their rights to own guns and how guns don't kill, people do, and don't take our rights to own guns because of this.... Etc. etc. I'm also seeing a lot of religious people posting about how they are praying for the families and how God will give them comfort and is with them, if God were still allowed in schools then none of this would hapemned, blah, blah, blah. You get the gist of want I'm saying and maybe have been one that has posted something similar.

All I know is that there are too many senseless acts of violence that are caused by crazy people wielding guns. To me the obvious thought is that there is an issue somewhere that needs to be fixed. When our planes were attacked and taken over by terrorists and caused the massive loss of human life on 9/11 things changed. Security was beefed up at airports, people were searched more thouroughly and so was their luggage, certain things weren't allowed on planes that use to be, people were more cautions and aware. So after all the school shootings what has changed? Some schools have metal detectors and security, but that costs money that most schools cant't afford. Especially not Texas where the governor wants to eliminate education all together.

So do we really only care about changing things to keep us safe when its an outside threat? When its a home grown terrorists that attacks us, are we not as concerned with the follow up action to prevent another act of terror? Is it too difficult to admit that our right to own guns also means Americans committing acts of terror have that right? So is it worth it? Is it worth what has happened in so many schools so you can have your right to own a gun just like the physcophsths who kill the innocent?

I am curious about something else too. Those spouting their freedom to own guns also spout their opinions about abortion and their belief that it is murder. So aborting a fetus before it has a heart beat is murder and should be stopped at any cost, but everyone should be able to own guns even if that means someone whose killed a school room full of children with beating hearts? Because that one person was crazy like all the school and public place shooters, that shouldn't affect your rights to wn a gun, right? Well then that one person who decided to have a baby and all those who think anortion is and shouldn't affect my right to abort.

And finally I'm wondering if God is so involved in our lives and does so much and listens and imterveens, then why not that day? Oh, because God isn't allowed I'm schools. So because you have to say your prayer quietly and read your bible not during class time when my taxes are paying for you you to learn something god just disappeared? So he isn't always with you, guiding you and helping you along way? I just really wonder if God doesn't want to help or isn't able to. What good is a god who lets horrible things happened with no help or reason and expects you to have blinf faith in him that everything will be okay. Well, it's not okay. If I'm going to have that much faith in a god that is never seen and doesn't do anything to help the horrendous suffering in the world, I'm gonna need something pretty solid to make that faith stick to something. Right now I don't see anything good coming from a blind faith that counterdicts itself constantly.

Saying you have faith and never having anything, but your feelings to show for it is dillusiona
